Benefits of making a bequest: A bequest often means you can make a much larger gift than you ever thought possible during your lifetime. You have use of the asset while you are alive and it is revocable if your financial circumstances change. By letting Hospice Calgary know you have left us in your will, we can recognize you and thank you during your lifetime. Have a question? Please contact Pat Lee at 403-263-4525 ext. 209
Life InsuranceCould there be a better policy than supporting Hospice Calgary’s programs and services? Gifts of life insurance are made by transferring ownership of a new or existing policy to Hospice Calgary. You receive a tax receipt for premiums paid after the date of transfer, or if giving a paid up policy, you receive a tax receipt for the policy value at the time of transfer. You can also name Hospice Calgary as a beneficiary of your policy and your estate will benefit from the resulting tax receipt and tax credit. Have a question? Please contact Pat Lee at 403-263-4525 ext. 209 Gifts of Shares
Donating publicly traded stocks and securities is a tax-smart way to give to Hospice Calgary. You will receive a tax receipt for the full appreciated value of the donation of the shares or securities and will pay no capital gains tax. The simplest way to make your gift of stock or securities is to have the shares electronically transferred from your account to Hospice Calgary’s account. Hospice Calgary Fund Development staff will guide you through the process and provide you with the necessary form to complete. The receipt value will be based on the closing trading price on the day Hospice Calgary receives delivery of the shares into its account. Have a question?
