After a Death

Is this your first contact with Hospice Calgary?

Call us for counselling. We provide support for children and  teenagers (age 18 and under) and their families who have experienced a loss through death - whether sudden, accidental or anticipated.

Hospice Calgary specializes in child and teen-friendly techniques to build strength and renew hope.  Our staff provide supportive and specialized trauma counselling and we offer the following programs:

Dream Catchers
A bereavement group for teens 13-18.  The group meets to share experiences, discuss grief-related topics and participate in creative activities.  There is no parent component to this program.  Next session starts September 30, 2010.  Call 403.263.4525 for more information or to register.

Kid's Club
A bereavement group for children ages 5-12. Each week the group provides a supportive environment for children in which they learn about grieving and loss, share experiences and concerns with peers, and have fun!  A concurrent parent session is offered. If so, you or any of your family or friends are welcome to continue receiving support through Hospice Calgary’s bereavement services. Please call our Counselling & Education Centre for program information. Your ongoing care is important to us.
