Counselling & Education Centre
Hospice Calgary's Counselling & Education Centre reflects our belief that hospice care is about more than providing beds - it's a philosophy. The Centre, while not a hospice itself, is nonetheless a haven for those individuals who are living with a life-threatening illness or coping with the death of a loved one.
We are the only organization in Calgary to provide a complete continuum of programs and services for the whole family from the time of terminal diagnosis to the time of death and through bereavement.
In the case of a sudden death, our Counselling & Education Centre helps children and teens (age of 18 and under) and their families cope. We lend a hand as they journey through their grief. And for those whose grief changes over time, we give support, even years later.
Many people benefit from group experiences and counselling at our Centre. But for those who cannot come in, we take our services directly into their homes.
Sometimes people need us in other places within our community. We provide grief and trauma counselling to teachers and students who have experienced an expected or sudden death. We're also a source of educational programs and resources for schools, professionals, universities, community groups and other agencies throughout Alberta.
Our Counselling & Education Centre is located at 1245 - 70 Avenue S.E.
